I cannot imagine the pain and suffering these poor people had to endure. We all must pray for the suffering of all people on this earth.

Turn around to Europe of the boats from North America was measured [then] to be six months. This, depending on the weather conditions, weight and also other external factors [e.g pirates along the way & militia]

Sugar plantations where specifically Carrabean??, however the slaves transported in those days had to be on a voyage taking up to a year with many dying through desease, and murdering each other in such close quaters that they were forced to live in on the journey that drove many insane.
