Moggel74 asked:
I am an architecture student right now…I finished my 3rd year of classes, and there were a couple of architects that came to me and told me that one thing I need to learn is how to smooze the client…he told me that I should take them out to a fancy dinner, and just talk and scribble an idea on a napkin for later…he also recommended that I take up golfing. I thought maybe I could get into yachting/sailing…Are there any other idea’s I can do?

Dominic88 asked:
I was watching the history channel and the statement was made that “like modern sailing yachts, Chinese junks were capable of sailing into the wind.” Can someone explain to a lay person how a sailing ship can be propelled by wind INTO the wind? Or am I just misunderstanding the concept?

fadisaf_1 asked: A customer has a large sailing yacht on a vessel that your company will be discharging. The customer is present and is watching the off-loading operation.
The five stevedores you manage pull off a very tricky maneuver, safely transferring the yacht to the trailer. The customer is elated, and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a big wad of $50 bills. What do you do?

Daniel asked: I have a 37 ft yacht (sailing) docked on San Francisco Marina. I don’t have a house and not planning on buying one. Would you marry me if I proposed?
(Women point of view would be appreciated, I know what most men think already)
I would love to add, the reason I have a yacht is not a symbol of me having money. I grew up sailing, so did my family, and their fathers, and grandfathers.

jeff.hogie asked: I am vacationing in Punta Cana in a couple of weeks and I am hoping to do some yacht/catamaran sailing. I am an experienced sailor and was hoping to either charter a sailboat for a day or go on a sailing day trip (with a staff) where I can take over and sail.
Does anybody know of a company that offers these options?

Lleh asked:
I know this sonds crazy but I need if for a scene in a play. The people are restoring an old sailing yacht outside and a storm comes up. Nobody wants to quit working so they grab things and bring them into the banquet room of the mansion. The effect should be shocking as in Oh my god you can’t bring THAT into the dining room. A whole mast would probably be to big but other than that, anything that can be worked on separate from the boat would be good. Maybe part of the engine. Maybe something that needs to be sanded or painted. Suggestions?
Gad. Where’s Nyctugcapt or Scienceteacher when I need them?

NJ asked:
I heard, with very little detail, about universities or colleges that mainly focus on yachting, but other classes are offered so that some one could get a college degree. A school that focuses on the water, training skippers and crew. I’m not talking about just any college with a sailing program. I’m a junior and was thinking I could transfer from a small state university to one of these sailing schools. I’m sure that professional sailing/yachting is what I want to make my profession. Can any one help me?

“I had a dream about sailing in a yacht with my aunt who died some years ago. In the dream she announced that she had purchased a yacht with someone. Then I asked her the name of it and I cant remember the name. My aunt was in no position to buy a yacht when she was alive so I was shocked but felt comfortable. What does this all mean?”
